In 1972, Sisters Sr. Francelet and Sr. Anila began teaching at St. Joseph's Primary School, Pilankalai, following a mission in Tamil Nadu. They spread goodwill in Azhagiyamandapam, Kattaturai, and Thettiode, embodying St. Francis's ethos.

Two Pioneer sisters Sr Francelet and Sr.Anila from Devamatha Province Changanacherry stepped in to the mission of TamilNadu on 20th October 1972. After studying Tamil they began to work as teachers at St. Josephs Primary School Pilankalai from 23rd May 1974 onwards.
